Special Report: Patient Perspectives in Dialysis and CKD-ND
A Special Report Providing Important Insights into the perspective of CKD and Dialysis patients through the patients themselves.
Study Overview:
There are approximately 380,000 dialysis patients and about 8 million CKD Stage 3 and 4 patients in the United States. Particularly as the disease progresses, these patients tend to be very sick, have multiple co-morbidities, and are on numerous medications. Compared to some other disease states in which patients have a “loud voice”, these patients tend to be heard less frequently. The specific objectives of this report are to:
• Understand patient involvement with their care
• Gauge patient perspectives regarding satisfaction with care
• Assess patient perspectives around medication compliance, with a focus on anemia and bone and mineral metabolism management
• Understand patient perspectives around medication formulations, with a focus on anemia and bone and mineral metabolism management
• Learn about where patients garner information and determine patients needs and desires around disease and product education
Methodology:
This report will include a quantitative survey completed by 500 Dialysis patients and 500 CKD-ND patients.
Timing:
This survey will be fielded in January 2010 and published in March 31st 2010.
Deliverables:
The final report will be provided in PowerPoint. On-site or webcast presentations are available upon request at no additional charge.
